ABOUT Kevin Rumley

Kevin received his Doctorate in Social Work from The University of Tennessee. He is a combat-wounded Marine Corps veteran, having received a Purple Heart for injuries sustained from an IED on the Syrian border. Kevin is a veteran for peace, finding peace through music. Kevin is an LCSW, LCAS, and CCS, serving as the Buncombe County Veterans Treatment Court(VTC) Program Director. The VTC is a treatment-based alternative to the traditional carceral system. In 2023, Kevin released a Podcast about the individuals involved and impacted by the Veterans Court called “Voices of Recovery.” Kevin is also a person in long-term recovery, which (for him) means he has not had any alcohol, opioids, or heroin in 13 years. Kevin is committed to the struggle against genocide, militarization, and colonization.

Kevin and his brother, Matt, have created music together since childhood, releasing music under the moniker Her Marigold. Kevin and his high school friends, Rick and Alex, continue to write/release music under the name Bandazian. Kevin also serves as the touring drummer for Tyler Ramsey.
